Christmas in April

I’m famous in our family for a few things—some noble, others… let’s say *less so*. My most ignoble talent? I’m a plant assassin. Legend has it (and I’ll deny it to my dying day) that I once killed a *silk plant*. My defense? It was sickly when I got it! My thumb isn’t green—it’s more like a shade of doom.

But this year? Saints must’ve been soaring overhead when a poinsettia landed in my care. This thing’s got grit, maybe even a secret voice whispering, “Water me, please!” Four months later, against all odds, it’s *still alive* under my questionable supervision. A miracle? Divine intervention? Whatever it is, I’m calling it a win.

So, I’ve decided: if this poinsettia’s defying my black-thumb curse, I’m extending the Christmas season to match. We don’t know Jesus’s exact birthday, right? So I’m keeping the holiday spirit alive, celebrating His birth until—well, until I inevitably reclaim my title as Plant Killer Par Excellence. Poor thing doesn’t know what’s coming.
Poking fun at myself is my favorite pastime, and Mother Nature’s in on the joke. It *snowed* here in Colorado on April 19th, like a cosmic nod to my extended Christmas. Gotta love the support! Anyone else got a plant that’s outliving their reputation? 🌿❄️ #BlackThumb #PoinsettiaMiracle #ChristmasInApril
